"Work hard, because someone else is out there working harder. Remember what you deem as hard is normal for others. Treat everyone like they are your mother or your idol because you never know who you are talking to or where they could take you. Go above and beyond."

Q&A with Travis:

Describe your current educational or professional pursuits.

After graduating from USD, I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to pursue my master’s degree alongside my wife. I started working at the local Complete Nutrition as a sales consultant and at Aspen Athletic Club as a sales consultant. The owner of the 10,000% LLC DBA Complete Nutrition was growing and didn't want me to leave for graduate school, so he created a position for me in their office. Over a few months, I developed into their Director of Sales. Over the next three and a half years we went from 25 stores to 61 stores across the country.

My goal in life is to help people and I didn't feel I was doing so with the company I was with. I talked with my college buddies, and we wanted to do something on our own. Profile by Sanford Health popped up and it was right up my alley. It focused on nutrition and exercise and gave us the opportunity to truly be the entrepreneurs we wanted to be. In September 2016, we opened our first Profile location in west Omaha. Three months later in December 2016, we purchased the east Omaha Profile location from corporate and began to grow our business solely by changing lives. A few months later we purchased the Des Moines, IA territory and in November 2017 we opened our first location in Ankeny, IA.

In February 2018, we purchased the Kansas City market and are quickly growing there! 17 months after beginning this journey, we have four stores open and the following in development: an additional Omaha location and Des Moines location and we purchased three more territories in Indiana. My role began as managing our first location and has developed into overseeing the every day operations of our four locations and the development of our new ones. My partners (all USD grads) are CPAs and attorneys so their roles are behind the scenes, but they support myself and our company every day in so many ways.

How did your USD experience influence your career path?

I always knew what I wanted to help people, but didn't know how I would accomplish that. USD helped shape my path. I truly believe most people go to college thinking they want to do one thing and end up in a major somewhere else. Our business helps people every day. Weight loss, looking better, feeling better is one thing, but giving people confidence, saving marriages, relationships, and the chance to extend their life to live with their loved ones is the most rewarding.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

My proudest achievement is my family; they are everything to me. There is my wife of four years, Angie (Ahrenholtz) Miller, also a USD graduate; my 18-month-old daughter Zoe who’s my entire world; and Lola, our 3-year-old dog; and my baby boy on the way! My second greatest achievement is the effect I have been able to have on the lives of my friends, employees, and members!

What was your USD experience like? Were you involved in any campus organizations or activities?

My USD experience was one of the greatest times of my life from so many different perspectives. I played Intramural basketball, dodgeball, and football. I was also an intern and assistant for Jevon Bowman and the USD Strength & Conditioning staff. This experience had so much to do in shaping my career path. I had always been involved with athletics and exercise, but it was the first time exercise and nutrition really had a purpose in my life.

I was also very social and probably had a little too much fun at times, but through that I met so many people. I met my now wife of four years, my college roommates who will forever be my best friends and all stood at my wedding, and my other group of best friends who are now my business partners. I had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people!
