Tyler Tordsen – Emerging Leader

Tyler Tordsen Tyler Tordsen is a lifelong South Dakotan who was born in Sioux Falls, grew up in Rapid City and is an enrolled member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe. He graduated from USD in May 2015 with a B.S. in political science and economics. During his time on campus, he served as USD’s Student Body president, and as president of the local Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the Tiospaye Student Council. After graduation, he began his career in public service working for U.S. Senator Mike Rounds as a special assistant, working on constituent services, focusing on outreach and specializing in tribal relations and local governments. In March 2017, Tyler was promoted to southeast regional director for Senator Rounds. 

His role includes helping South Dakotans with issues involving the federal government, promoting communication, and overseeing the operations and management of Senator Rounds’ Sioux Falls office. Tyler and his wife Erika, USD ‘16, stay involved with USD by participating in the Sioux Falls area alumni chapter and attending reunions and sporting events.
