Student Ambassadors

Are you an outgoing communicator with a passion for advocating on behalf of the University of South Dakota? Are you looking to gain work experience in an office setting? Do you want to develop your customer service skills and provide assistance with assorted projects in various departments?

The University of South Dakota Foundation is looking for friendly and hard-working students to help assist throughout the organization.

Student Ambassadors are the first interaction our alumni and friends have when calling or visiting the Foundation, so the ability to create a welcoming environment is a must. Student Ambassadors will primarily be providing administrative assistance and aiding with projects throughout the USD Foundation.

Key Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service to constituents through all interactions.
  • Answer incoming calls from alumni, donors, vendors, and others and direct those calls to the appropriate point of contact.
  • Provide administration support, such as monitoring supply inventories, event set-up/tear down, and data entry.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments and interact with high-level staff such as CEOs, Senior Leadership Team, and other constituents.
  • Collaborate effectively and efficiently with internal and external partners and support a culture of cross-functional teamwork.

General Qualifications:

  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and active listening skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to plan, execute, and follow-through.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Available hours will be Monday – Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
