About the USD Foundation & Alumni Association
The USD Foundation & Alumni Association exists as one unified organization with a single mission: to strengthen the University of South Dakota by fostering lifelong connections and inspiring generosity that helps every Coyote creating lasting impact.
Since 1922, we have partnered with alumni, donors and friends to raise transformative funds that enhance the student experience, improve campus facilities and expand scholarship opportunities. These investments have fueled USD's growth and strengthened its long-standing tradition of excellence.
Equally important, we work to engage and celebrate a vibrant alumni network rooted in USD's history and traditions. Through meaningful programs, events and communications, we inspire service, leadership and loyalty that connect Coyotes across generations.
Together, these efforts ensure USD continues to thrive as a premier institution, one where every gift, every connection and every story contributes to a stronger future.

Our Record-Breaking Year
Fiscal year 2025 was our most productive year yet, receiving more than $55.5 million in philanthropic support from 5,367 donors. Over $15 million was directed to scholarships, including a $3 million gift from Gary '78 and Sue Ellis. $22 million came in through estate gifts and $2.67 million was raised from more than 1,930 donors during Unite for USD. Needless to say, we're creating lasting impact one day at a time.
