Assistant Director of Athletic Development

A key member of the Athletics Development Team, the Assistant Director of Athletic Development will focus primarily on leading and managing the Howling Pack, the annual fund component of the athletic development strategy, and assisting with all athletic development initiatives. This position will play a key role in creating a high standard of customer service excellence and a culture of philanthropy. This position works in a high-paced environment, creative, and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Athletics Development staff to create and implement the annual attainment and renewal plan to reach the goals of the Howling Pack, and all other athletic initiatives.
  • Oversee the Howling Pack membership experience, related reporting, and benefit acknowledgment/fulfillment process.
  • Assist with the management of all athletic fundraising events, including auctions, golf outings, monthly lunches, tailgate and hospitality events, reunions, and other special events.
  • Provide leadership and assistance to standing and ad hoc committees (Calling All Coyotes, Coyote Brotherhood, etc.) through coordination of meetings, communication, and general support.
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Director of Advancement Communications & Stewardship

As a member of the Alumni Relations & Communications team, this position will be responsible for the oversight and management of the strategy, development, and direction of advancement communications. This position will play a vital role in building, implementing, and stewardship programs that recognize, inform and engage donors through strategic communications, reporting, and outreach activities. This position will work independently, under the direction of the Vice President of Alumni Relations and Communications, in collaboration with University marketing to provide high-level project management, as well as analytical and technical expertise to support and advance the goals of the organization and the University it serves.

Key Responsibilities

  • In close partnership with university marketing, oversee the production of advancement marketing and communications materials that align with campaign objectives and advance constituent relationships and gift conversations.
  • Conceptualize, create, develop and write proposals and numerous other communication projects to support donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship.
  • Develop and execute donor recognition programs and events, including impact reports, endowment reports, and special communications (anniversary, first-time donor, holiday, etc.)
  • Create and maintain processes with key partners to drive donor stewardship interactions, including preparing stewardship materials, answering questions on stewardship processes, and data reports as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or other related field and or experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
