2020 Alumni Tour of Greece

Join Clayton Lehmann, professor of history and Dr. Michael Kruger, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and Lohre Distinguished Professor, as they travel to Greece for an alumni tour from March 6-15, 2020. The tour will start in Athens and make stops in various cities throughout Greece.

The tour cost is around $4,149 per person departing from Minneapolis, based on double occupancy (other departure cities are available upon request). Inclusions consist of air transportation, land transportation, hotel accommodations, breakfast daily and six dinners, English-speaking Greek tour manager, sightseeing and admission fees, tipping and taxes and optional evening lectures by Professor Lehmann.

Payment schedule:

  • $400 deposit with registration
  • Payment of $1,250 per person by October 1
  • Payment of $1,250 per person December 1

Balance due on receipt of invoice sent 30-45 days prior to departure.

Cancellation penalty schedule:

  • More than 90 days before departure - $200 per person
  • Between 90 and 46 days before departure - $400 per person
  • Between 45 and 31 days before departure - $2,200
  • 30 or fewer days before departure – No refund

Saturday, March 7

  • Late afternoon arrival in Athens
  • Optional walk with Prof. Lehmann
  • Welcome dinner

Sunday, March 8

  • Sightseeing tour of Athens
  • Visit the National Archaeological Museum
  • Dinner at a restaurant

Monday, March 9

  • Visit the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum
  • Free time in Athens and independent dinner

Tuesday, March 10

  • Visit Corinth, Mycenae, and Nauplion
  • Check-in for a two-night stay in Nauplion
  • Dinner at hotel



Wednesday, March 11

  • Excursion to Epidaurus
  • Wine tasting
  • Return to Nauplion
  • Free time with independent dinner

Thursday, March 12

  • Visit site and museum at Olympia
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Delphi

Friday, March 13

  • Visit site and museum at Delphi
  • Stop at the monastery of Hosios Loukas
  • Continue to Athens
  • Dinner at hotel

Saturday, March 14

  • Excursion to the island of Hydra by high-speed ferry
  • Return to Athens
  • Farewell dinner at a restaurant

Sunday, March 15

  • Transfer to the Athens airport
  • Return to Minneapolis or your preferred airport
