"Choose a career that doesn’t feel like work because 40 years is a long time to do something you don’t love. Once you figure that out, take advantage of being a student, seek mentorship, internships (work for free if you must), travel abroad, and chase your dreams. Take risks while you’re young; no one ever made it big by playing it safe. So, start that business, travel the world, leave the job you hate. Whatever it is, give it your all and enjoy it while you can."

Q&A with Brian:

Describe your current educational or professional pursuits.

I am done with school, for now. I may pursue a Tax LLM in the future to better assist my clients with their tax concerns.

Professionally, I am an NFL agent with aspirations to one day be a majority owner of an NFL team. I will continue to work as an agent and start a few businesses that align with my passions until my dream of being a majority owner is possible.

How did your USD experience influence your career path?

Choosing to transfer to USD was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. My main influence for chasing my dreams came from the administration and staff. I cannot thank Dr. Ram, President Abbott, Dean Vickrey, Professor Horton, Tara Rohan, and my mentor Charnell Oxford enough for their encouragement and support. Without them, I would not have ever believed in myself enough to pursue my dreams and I would not have had the platform in law school to make my dreams a reality.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

My proudest achievement to date is being able to turn down reputable agencies to start my own NFL Agency. It may not sound like much, but it feels amazing to have the freedom to mentor and help professional athletes maneuver the business of sports without outside pressure.

What was your USD experience like? Were you involved in any campus organizations or activities?

USD was an amazing experience. I was able to help start the Coyote Crazies, Entertainment & Sports Law Association, and Union of African American Students as a student. I was also an active member of the American Bar Association, Coyote Capital Management, Financial Management Association, National Trial Team, Student Bar Association, and USD Football Team.
