"My advice would be to get involved in as many projects, organizations, groups, and philanthropic events as possible. I learned a lot about time management and staying focused as a student and fraternity member. My other advice would be to dream big and don't give up if a class is too difficult. Reach out and utilize the resources available to students to excel at this great university."

Q&A with Zac:

Describe your current educational or professional pursuits.

Currently, I am enrolled in the MBA program online through USD. My emphasis is on health administration and I will complete my graduate degree in the fall of 2019. Regarding my professional pursuit, my current role is very challenging, but I love the work I do. My daily work involves direct contact and work with our senior leadership of vice presidents as well as our CEO. My goal is to someday become a member of our senior leadership and lead a hospital as the CEO. I'm planning on using the knowledge and experience I’ve gained through the MBA program to help me towards this goal.

How did your USD experience influence your career path?

USD has influenced my career path in many ways. The MBA program has jumpstarted my career and provided me with immense knowledge that I use daily in my current job. Seeing many of my friends and fraternity brothers have successful starts to their career motivates me as well. It really reassures how great this university is and that graduates are successful. My work as president of my fraternity and vice president on IFC has motivated me to seek work as a major executive one day in a health care organization.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

My proudest achievement would be gaining entrance into the MBA program. It gave me buyer's remorse in that I wish I would have doubled majored in chemistry and business. Graduate school was a dream of mine for a while and now it is finally a reality.

What was your USD experience like? Were you involved in any campus organizations or activities?

My USD experience was amazing, if that word can do it justice. I was involved in Tau Kappa Epsilon and The Interfraternity Council (IFC). I was also involved in Dance Marathon for several years. My fraternity put on several philanthropy events that I helped organize as well over the years. I served as president of my fraternity during my senior year and created several bonds with other houses and leaders within the USD faculty. I was named to Dakota Days royalty during my senior year and took great pride in representing USD with class and a positive attitude. I'm still involved as an alumni advisor so I attend and participate in alumni advisor dinners and other events.
